Seminar on The 23rd PHS MoU General Meeting

On the seminar held in the afternoon on Oct. 30, six companies introduced their new technology and exchanged technological information. These companies are BDA, Wavesat, Altair, Nokia Qt Software, UTStarcom and WILLCOM.

Consulting company BDA China Ltd. gave the first presentation titled China Telecom Market Overview. The latest information regarding China telecom carriers under restructure, PHS and 3G trend on China market were introduced.




Then, Mr. Jonathan Labs from Canadian chipmaker Wavesat introduced Odyssey, a solution method to WiMAX, XGP, LTE and other 4G technologies.

 

Then Mr. Yigal Bitran from interface chip maker Altair introduced PHY function of its chip in his presentation titled XGP Performance.

 

Following, QT Software, which is headquartered in Norway and is a subsidiary of Norkia introduced its software businesses. The company, as the holder of brand of Trolltech for fourteen years, has made a good achievement in providing software for various mobile devices.

 

After that, Mr. Pun Lam from a major PHS supporter, UTStarcom introduced China’s PHS market and its corresponding business strategy. It emphasized in the presentation that it’ll focus on PHS technical advantages for M2M market in future.

 

At last, WILLCOM introduced the latest development of PHS service in Japan. The presentation emphasized the preparation process of XGP service in Japan.
