PWG Meeting on The 23rd PHS MoU Group General Meeting

On PWG meeting held in Oct. 29, PWG Chairman Mr. Akatsuka made report on activity report in fiscal year 2007 and activity plan for fiscal year 2008.



The Year of 2007:

 
  • SWG2（Media Promotion: Newsletter & Web）:
    Publishing bi-month newsletter and update Website. Around 1500 peoples subscribed our newsletter.

  • SWG3（Guide Book）:
    XGP handbook with XGP technical outline and the 4th Edition of PHS Guidebook with the latest technical trend regarding terminal, base stations and backbone were published.



  • SWG4（Next Generation PHS Promotion Project）:
    The panel with special mission in promotion of XGP was established in August 2008.
    1. Create the nickname and logo.
      The recommendation of XGP（eXtended Global Platform）was adopted among over 300 names collected。



    2. Launch a new website 　（Sep, 2nd 2008～）

    3. Promotion at IT exhibitions in Asia
      ITU Telecom Asia 2008 (Sep 2nd - 5th in Bangkok, Thailand）

The Year of 2008:

  1. SWG2:Media Promotion Activities
    • Issue the Newsletter
    • Update the website of PHS MoU Group

  2. SWG4:XGP Promotion Project Activities
    • Develop the promotion tool, such as promotion video
    • Consider the attendance to exhibition and/or seminars
    • Plan to arrange some events on the spring of 2009, the same time as XGP service will launches in Japan
    • Develop the demonstration tool for XGP
