SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. (SANYO) has launched a web browser PHS terminal (Personal Station : PS) "WX310SA" for WILLCOM, Inc. (WILLCOM) at the end of November 2005.

WILLCOM's flat-rate plan (calls and mails are free of charge) which has been greatly talked about since May 2005 enables the user to enjoy excellent service without having to worry about time even in distant places. With "WX310SA", SANYO supports you and your families' communication and provides a chance to strengthen the bonds between families, couples and friends, etc.

Under the catchphrase "Anytime, Anywhere Web Browsing on Your Palm!" the new PHS terminal "WX310SA" has been designed, equipped with a web browser (NetFront^(R) v3.3). With this browser, users can enjoy PC websites (HTML) in addition to mobile websites.

Moreover, files attached to an e-mail such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PDF etc. can be browsed on the terminal's LCD screen thanks to its document viewer function so that it is very convenient for business use as well.

Further, in order to obtain more information faster taking advantage of WILLCOM's flat-rate data communication service, the terminal's high functionality has accordingly been realized. The data speed matches WILLCOM's 4X packet high-speed data communication system so that more comfortable data communication service will be provided than before.

These functions can be enjoyed without worrying about time and charge if "Internet Flat-rate Option" is selected.

Further, "WX310SA" is the industry-first PHS terminal using Java™ enabling users to enjoy various games. This function is supported by world standard MIDP2.0 and the customization for each customer's use is available. 1.3 mega pixels (nominal) camera available for macro close-up mode is also installed so "WX310SA" has been completed as a satisfactory communication tool for both business and private life scenes.

I. Main Features

1. PC Website (HTML) Browser and Document Viewer
   
   Web browser software "NetFront^(R) v3.3 ^{(Note 1)}" is installed so that the PC Website can be browsed while being out of the office or on the move. WILLCOM's new voice terminal is supporting maximum data speed 4X ^{(Note 2)} packet system to enable more comfortable data communication than the current model.
   Further, PC documents such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PDF etc. sent as attached files to an e-mail can easily be browsed by the document viewer function * at any size reduced or enlarged. ^{(Note 3)}
   
   "WX310SA" can be used effectively as both business and private tool to obtain more information faster even while being out of the office or on the move.
   * "NetFront^(R) Document Viewer" and "Adobe^(R) Reader LE ^{(Note 4)}" are adopted to the above document viewer function.



2. 1.3 Mega Pixels (nominal) CMOS Camera available for Convenient Macro Close-up Mode
   
   1.3 mega pixels (nominal) CMOS camera available for macro close-up mode is installed. With this close-up mode, character information obtained from the barcode (QR code) can be used to generate an address book or mail. ^{(Note 5)}



3. Java™ (MIDP2.0)
   
   World standard MIDP2.0 ^{(Note 6)} is adopted so that various contents such as games etc. as well as their customization become available. "WX310SA" can be used more conveniently in each life scene such as playing the game privately or utilizing the customized contents in business etc.

  With 2.4 in. large-size 260,000 colors QVGA LCD, website or image can be seen more clearly.



• Card Slot for MiniSDTM Memory Card (sold separately)
  MiniSD™ memory card is supported so that the images taken by a camera or downloaded music files etc. can be stored fully. (Some data are not storable according to the data property.)



• Sufficient Character Entry Function
  Preinstalled predictive conversion entry software (Advanced Wnn^(c) version1.2) secures smooth character entry. ^{(Note 7)}



• IC Recorder Function
  Audio recording based on AMR codec for up to approx. 20 hrs. is available.^{(Note 8)} It is a convenient and reliable tool for onsite conference recording etc.



• Security Function covering the Loss of the PHS Terminal
  Even if the PHS terminal is lost, the lost terminal can be locked or its memory data can be deleted using light e-mail from other WILLCOM's phone or sub-address transmission from ISDN public telephone etc. in remote place.



• Built-in USB (Mini B type) Terminal
  PHS's battery can be charged by connecting it to the PC with co-packaged USB cable. Further, if miniSD™ memory card is plugged into the PHS's card slot, it can also be used as a USB data storage with the PC as well.



• Quick Reference Function for the Phonebook Names
  If the numeric key is pressed and held during standby, a phonebook can be referred for a word assigned to that key quickly.
