NEC Infrontia launches first wireless PC Card exclusive for
gAIR-EDGE [PRO]h Service


     NEC Infrontia Corporation has developed wireless PC card “AIR-EDGE [PRO] AX510N” first as an exclusive card for a new “AIR-EDGE [PRO]” service to be provided by WILLCOM Inc. and started its sales from February 18 (Fri.), 2005.
     “AX510N” is an “AIR-EDGE [PRO]” terminal to realize robust and stable mobile data communications by 8x packet communications combining up to 8 channels.
     “AX510N” is adaptable to “AIR-EDGE MEGA PLUS” service so mega-class data speed can be felt by combining speed-up effects up to 500% by optimizing the network protocol and image file with 8x packet method communications.

 

     Built-in two high-sensitivity flex skeleton antennas separately rotatable by 360 degrees will provide stable data communication environment even in high-speed 8x packet mode.
     Further, it has a PCMCIA type II PC interface and adaptable to PCs loaded with Windows(R) or Mac(R) OS.
     It can also be used as an extension of the business use cordless telephone system and the PIAFS communications with the base unit of NEC Infrontia’s key telephone system “Aspire” as well as that conforming to the private cordless telephone system RCR STD-28 version 3 standard is available.
     It’s adaptable to international roaming service in Taiwan and Thailand and the data communications is available there as well.
     In addition, USB memory type “Easy Setup Tool” with which the whole settings can be made only by inserting it into the PC’s USB port is enclosed in the package.

2. Mega-class data speed can be felt with "AIR-EDGE MEGA PLUS" service     It's also adaptable to WILLCOM's "AIR-EDGE MEGA PLUS " service and up     to 500% sped-up Mbps(mega bps)-class data speed can be felt by optimizing     the network protocol and image file with an exclusive client software.

3. 360 degrees rotatable two high-sensitivity flex skeleton antennas secure stable communications

    Built-in two skeleton type high-sensitivity flex antennas separately rotatable     by 360 degrees secure stable communications even in high-speed mode by     adjusting the antenna direction according to the receiving condition.
4. "Easy Setup Tool" enabling even beginners to set up easily is enclosed in the package
    Driver software, various utility software, client software exclusive for
    "AIR-EDGE MEGA PLUS" etc. will be provided by an enclosed USB memory     type "Easy Setup Tool". Setup and installation work can be done easily by     this.

5. Already acquired Windows(R) logo and the stable operation has been verified by Windows(R) PC and adaptable to Mac(R) OS loaded PC as well

6. Adaptable to the business use cordless telephone system and can be used as its extension terminal

7. Adaptable to international roaming service (in Taiwan and Thailand)
