The Delegation of China Telecomfs Executive V.P. visited
the PHS MoU Group


     The delegation of China Telecom led by its executive vice President Mr. Sun visited the PHS MoU Group in Tokyo, Japan on November 10 (Wed.), 2004, to have a meeting with the PHS MoU chairperson, vice chairperson etc. and itfs been confirmed that both parties continue to jointly support the PHSfs growth in the future.

     From China Telecom, executive vice president Mr. Sun and other five members visited the PHS MoU Group Secretariat in Tokyo, Japan. From the PHS MoU Group, chairperson Mr. Horisaki, vice chairperson Mr. Wakao and the representatives of each Business/Technical/Promotion Working Group (WG) welcomed the delegation.

     First Mr. Horisaki gave an address that the PHS MoU Group has been active in promoting the Japan origin PHS technology in all the world and now itfs flowering in China so that wefd be very much pleased to have a visit of Mr. Sunfs delegation from China Telecom having the largest number of the PHS subscribers in the world and to have a chance of exchanging information.

     Next Mr. Sugiura, PHS MoU Group secretary general, explained the overall activities of the PHS MoU. After that, Mr. Fujii, Technical Working Group (TWG) vice chairperson, gave a presentation on technical issues of the ongoing standardization work which is particularly noticed among those activities. China Telecom asked a question especially about the trends of the SIM (PIM) cardfs standardization.

     On behalf of China Telecom, Mr. Sun expressed his gratitude to the PHS MoU for having a meeting and his intention of reinforcing the mutual cooperation. Mr. Sun added that hefs interested in an adaptation to the SIM card, service quality improvement by optimizing the CS installation, etc. and stressed to endeavor for further PHS development in China in cooperation with the PHS MoU.

     The meeting was quite useful towards the future PHS in China as well as the PHSfs development in the world.
