     I'd like to explain about the image conversion technology AVS developed by ALFAVISION Corp.
     By using this technology, an image data can be converted to much smaller size than average compression technology. Loss less compression is also possible by AVS. Both data size and data processing software are so small and light that it can be used for the PHS effectively.
     As for AVS's features, the following six things, Single Source, Security, Downsize Data, Easy Customization, High Speed and High Quality can be listed. An explanation on each feature is as follows.




(1) Single Source :
Single source of data in the server is downloadable by various mobile terminals such as the mobile phone, PDA etc. and can be displayed in the optimum size to each terminal's screen. (refer to Fig.-1)

(2) Security :
Exclusive viewer/editor are necessary for decompression because an original data format is adopted.

(3) Downsize Data :
AVS can provide higher compression ratio than other average compression technologies such JPEG etc. so that the data transfer also becomes easier. The most suitable convert engine can be selected to the different type of image.

(4) Easy Customization :
Compression module and decompression module application are small data size and Java based decompression module application has also been developed so it's easy to incorporate the engine or viewer into the mobile phone or Web server etc.

(5) High Speed :
Thanks to its original algorithm, AVS can realize a high performance. Fig-2 compares the conversion speed and data size by data type between AVS and PDF and represents that AVS is superior to PDF in both speed and size.

(6) High Quality :
It's also possible to add a denoising process during the process of AVS conversion. By this a noisy image such as the facsimile can be converted to the clear one.

     As an example of the image conversion service, I'd like to introduce a case of real property. An informer registers the necessary information to the data center through the web by PC. Data center creates downloadable data by converting an image automatically. User can access and browse this data website by either PC or mobile phone. At each terminal, data scroll, zoom in/out etc. can be done smoothly.
     By the above explained AVS's features, its application to the mobile phone/PHS becomes possible.
