The PHS has been growing at remarkably high speed especially in China and today itfs become a system with more than 60 million subscribers throughout the world. It must be a result of the efforts made by the persons who have been involved in the PHS. For further development of the PHS in the future, we must consider the usersf convenience first.

     However, recently therefs a concern about the diversification of the PHS specifications. We are afraid of a bad influence of the poor interoperability caused by such diversification on the whole PHS industry by decreasing the users. The PHS MoU Group is troubled with such conditions so that the Technical Working Group (TWG) is strengthening its activities to unify the specifications as the PHS MoU Group. Wefd like the PHS MoU Group members who are concerned about the various specifications to participate in the TWGfs discussions.

     Further, wefd also like the nonmembers to join the PHS MoU Group and the specifications discussions as well if you are interested in such. We are hoping for the PHSfs further developments in the future toward 100 million subscribers.
