Data Co., Ltd. (MD), a subsidiary of Kyocera
Communication Systems Co., Ltd. (KCCS) is selling a new mobile
pocket electrocardiograph (ECG) with PHS data communications capability
and provides “Mobile Digital Electrocardiograph Data Recording
Services”. The “EV-50” was developed by Fukuda
Denshi Co., Ltd. (Fukuda Denshi).
The mobile type ECG “EV-50” is carried
by the user in throughout their normal day; when need arises, ECG
data can be measured and recorded by simply placing the pendant-type
electrode against the user’s torso and pressing a button.
Recorded ECG data is then automatically transferred to the medical
data center (MDC) through the PHS network.
PHS data communications service ”KWINS”
is provided by KCCS acting as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator
(MVNO) based on the DDI
POCKET’s network.
This system allows users to frequently collect
ECG data, offering a barometer of the user’s heart’s
health which can be measured and recorded anytime an anywhere.
The ECG data received by the MDC is analyzed by
medical specialists and the results are reported to the sender by
e-mail or facsimile.
