PHS International Roaming Service in Taiwan

Services are supported in addition to the Voice Communication
Service -
DDI POCKET, Inc. has decided to launch
the PHS international roaming service in Taiwan. This service is
to realize an international roaming to Taiwan by First International
Telecom Corp. (FITEL)'s PHS network.
DDI POCKET's users can receive voice communication,
E-Mail, site access, data communications services, using their own
PHS terminals even while staying in Taiwan as well.
The international roaming service from Taiwan
to Japan has been started since May, 2002. From now on the bi-directional
roaming service is available.
1. Service Outline
This new international
roaming service enables DDI POCKET's users to receive
the similar services in Japan even while in Taiwan with their own
PHS terminals.
Not only ordinary
"Voice Communication" but also "E-Mail", "Site Access" and
"64 Kbps PIAFS Data Communications" will become available.

Telephone Number and How to use
International roaming
service users' PHS terminal has "Roaming Number" enabling
this service in Taiwan in addition to the original "DDI POCKET's Number".
The following two types of dialing can be
used to receive this service in Taiwan.
1. Direct dialing to the Roaming
Number (Receiving by the Roaming Number)
2. Dialing to DDI POCKET's Number
(Forwarding to the Roaming Number)

2. Service Contents
The following services are available in FITEL's
PHS service area in Taiwan.
(1) Voice Communication
Sending and receiving international
and domestic call is available at reasonable
rates.
Call rates incentives are as follows.
1. Receiving by the Roaming Number
The rates for direct receiving
by the roaming number are free.
2. Call between the Roaming Service
Users traveling to Taiwan
A call between DDI
POCKET's roaming service users in Taiwan (Receiving by
the Roaming Number) and to FITEL's PHS service user is available at the rates of 40yen
(approx. $0.33)/min. (To be billed to the caller only.)
3. Call from Taiwan to Japan
A call from Taiwan
to Japan is available at the rates of 120yen (approx.$1.0)/min.
(2) E-Mail
DDI POCKET's E-Mail service is available
through FITEL's Internet access service.
Mail check can easily be made by only PHS terminal even while traveling
in Taiwan.
(3) Site Access
Access to the open sites through FITEL's
Internet access service is available
for easy information collection.
(4) Data Communications
64 Kbps PIAFS data communications service
is available by connecting the PHS terminal
with the PC with cables such as an USB cable. FITEL's Internet
access service enables an easy Internet access.
* PHS terminal
with browser is necessary for above (2) E-Mail and (3)Site Access
services.
3. Service Area
Service area for this service in Taiwan
is the same as FITEL's current area. Main
Cities this service is available: Greater Taipei and its suburbs (Taipei, TaoYuan , HsinChu and Taipei
International Airport)
4. Adaptable Terminals
Terminals adaptable for international
roaming service are necessary for this service
and the first such terminals AH-J3001V and AH-J3002V (both AirH" PHONEs)
made by Japan Radio Co. Ltd. (JRC) have been launched on April 1,
2003.
5. Tariff
Daily basic Rate
100 yen (approx. $0.83)/day with an
upper limit of 1,000yen (approx. $8.3)/month.

July 2000: Agreed on H" LINK technology
license and joint study on the PHS international
roaming service between FITEL and DDI POCKET.
