The Asian largest scale telecommunication and IT exhibition, "PT/EXPO COMM CHINA 2002", was held at China International Exhibition Center in Beijing for the period of October 29 - November 2, jointly sponsored by China Ministry of Information Industry (MII) and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). More than 700 domestic and foreign exhibitors participated in this event and the total visitors is believed to have exceeded 350,000.

This exhibition is held mainly with the aim of technical exchange between key Chinese domestic operators and telecommunication equipment vendors both domestic and foreign in order to provide telecommunication infrastructures for the basis of future Chinese industries.

As for the PHS, system vendors actively playing in Chinese market such as UTStarcom, ZTE, Lucent Technologies as well as Japanese SANYO Electric Co., Ltd., Kyocera Corporation, Hitachi, Ltd., etc. exhibited personal stations (PSs) and cell stations (CSs).

Each exhibitor's booth was filled with visitors and it showed the PHS's attractiveness again.
